New CD helps parish leaders explain liturgical catechesis in Sunday bulletins

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 19, 2002 — Resource Publications, Inc. announces the development of Bulletin Inserts for Liturgical Catechesis, a collection containing more than 130 short inserts for parish bulletins, on a CD-ROM.

This new catechetical tool aims to help parish leaders teach parishioners about the feasts and seasons, symbols and history of the liturgy in a short, easy to understand, yet still informative format. Glenn McCreary, assistant pastor, remarks, “Using only a few well-chosen words, with bold, eye-catching artwork, Bulletin Inserts for Liturgical Catechesis offers a simple and direct approach to teaching about the liturgy. A welcome tool for ongoing liturgical catechesis.”

The CD format enables users to select the insert they want and then choose whether to customize the text and graphic files using their own software or use the item in its original design. Each item includes both text and graphics to ensure that every insert is as interesting and fulfilling for the reader as possible.

“My hope is that this resource will help pastors, liturgists and other ministers increase the knowledge and understanding of their assembly members so they may have an increasingly full, active and conscious participation not only in worship but in Christian life as well,” writes author Marion Eagen.

Marion Eagen is liturgy music coordinator at the Church of St. Gregory in Clarks Green, Pa. She has been a lifelong parish volunteer, serving mostly in the liturgical ministries, and has done graduate work in religious studies. She also offers liturgy training and writes for the Diocese of Scranton. She is married, the mother of two children and a grandmother of one.
